Overview
Climbup Insect Interceptor Bed Bug Monitors set the standard for passive bed bug monitors. They are simple, easy to use, reliable and inexpensive.
The Climbups are smooth plastic cups with a special design. You put them under the legs of the bed.
When a bed bug tries to climb up into the bed, they get stuck in the cups.
Cost
A pack of 12 will run about $60. Depending on how many legs each bed has, this should cover 2 – 3 beds.
Ease of Setup and Use
If you have the strength to lift the bed legs up enough to slide the cups under, setup is easy.
Once they are installed you don’t need to do anything more except check the cups and clean out any bed bugs that get trapped. (Use tape to catch the bed bugs. Stick ’em securely to a notecard and have them ID’d or just spray with a mix of water and isopropyl alcohol to kill them and then dispose.)
Requires Replenishment
Not really but you might want to sprinkle some talcum powder in the inner cups from time to time just to be on the safe side.
Accuracy
They are pretty accurate at trapping any bugs that try to climb into the bed.
They won’t do anything special to lure bugs out of hiding however.
