Bed Bug Beware is a good book for somebody that just wants the basics and nothing more. It gets right to the point and won’t bog you down with fluff and filler.
A major strength of the book is how short it is. For some reason I was expecting a much larger book. When I received it I was surprised at the small, slim size. This would be perfect to stick in your suitcase while you travel. As much as I like the Bed Bug Handbook, it’s not something I’d find room for in my suitcase or carry-on bag. But Bed Bug Beware is.
This book has a nice, thorough section on checking a room for bed bugs. The price of the book is worth it for this section alone. It also tells you what to do if you encounter bed bugs while you’re traveling. You’ll also find answers to many other questions, like:
- What are bed bugs?
- Where do they come from?
- How do I protect my home from them?
- How do I avoid them while traveling?
- What do I do if I get them?
- Can I get rid of them on my own?
- How do I choose a good exterminator?
Bed Bug Beware does a good job of explaining how to stop the spread of bed bugs. This is something not many people touch on. But part of the reason bed bugs spread easily is because people don’t dispose of infested items in a responsible way.
If you’re looking for something basic that is easy to take with you when you travel, this is the book you’re looking for.
